Bluebird Care Burton & Swadlincote Teams Up with Re-engage to Combat Loneliness.
Here at Burton Radio, we often highlight the incredible efforts of local organisations working to make a real difference in our community. We're delighted to share news of a brand new partnership that promises to bring warmth and connection to older residents in Burton upon Trent and Swadlincote.

Bluebird Care Burton & Swadlincote has officially partnered with Re-engage, a national charity dedicated to fighting loneliness and social isolation among older people. This collaboration aims to create vital opportunities for older adults to come together, share conversations, and build new friendships.
Re-engage provides life-enhancing social connections for older people when their social circles might be shrinking. They offer a range of support services, including in-person, telephone, and online options, all designed to help older people connect with others. These services extend to various initiatives such as activity groups for people aged 75 and over, and call companion services.
Through this new partnership, Care Mentor Codie Hamilton and Care Assistant John Bell from Bluebird Care Burton & Swadlincote will be volunteering their time to help lead these groups. They will be offering a warm and welcoming environment for meaningful connection and fun through regular community events.
In today's world, social isolation can be a significant challenge for many older people. This partnership directly addresses that by creating regular, accessible events right here in our community. It's a wonderful way to foster connections and ensure that our older residents feel valued and engaged.
Bluebird Care Burton & Swadlincote is known for its commitment to high-quality home care, and this partnership extends their dedication to holistic well-being. By joining forces with Re-engage, they're helping to build a stronger, more connected community where no one feels left behind.
Vicki Jones, Registered Manager at Bluebird care said, โIโm genuinely excited about this partnership. Every day, we witness the impact that loneliness and social isolation can have on the mental health and wellbeing of older people. Thatโs why it means so much to be part of an initiative that brings people together and builds meaningful, lasting connectionsโnot just for our customers, but for the wider community too. Iโm incredibly proud of Codie and John for volunteering their time to support such a wonderful charity.โ
Trent & Dove are also supporting this partnership by offering out both their 181 Community Hub in Winshill, and Short Street Cafe as locations where this initiative can be delivered from. Demonstrating the strength of the local community and the collaboration that takes place to support great causes like this.
Keep an eye out for more details on these upcoming events, including dates and venues. If you or someone you know could benefit from a friendly gathering and the chance to connect with others, this new partnership offers a fantastic opportunity. It's another brilliant example of local organisations coming together to uplift and support the people of Burton and Swadlincote.
